Activity Overview
Wadell State Beach can be found as one part of the Big Basin Redwoods State Park. It is sat right in the route of Highway One so if you are following that incredibly scenic drive this is a must-stop along your way. It also happens to be a stellar destination for surfing and kite-surfing with strong winds and tall waves. Of course you can just come along with a pleasant afternoon out to relax and soak up some sun!
Things to Do
- If you are an experienced kite or wind surfer this really is the place to come. Boogie boarders and normal surfers are usually out in force too. For the non-surfing amongst us it is fun to sit and watch surfers do their impressive tricks. Aside from that this is a relaxed, family friendly beach that makes a great destination.
- The Beach happens to be very conveniently located beside the Rancho Del Oso State Park. If you are done with the beach you should consider a trip here as there is plenty to do.
- The Park is home to a Nature and History Center open to the public. From May to October camps are open where you can make a reservation to stay the night. You can combine a stay here with hiking along one of the Park's trails.
