Wenham Museum

Activity Overview

The Wenham Museum is dedicated to child and family life in New England and has been open since the early 1920's. They collect and exhibit objects and artifacts that give an insight into life in their area of the United States including model trains, dolls, photographs and textiles. It is all located in a wonderfully quaint little village not all that far north of Boston.

Things to Do

• The Museum has a great range of exhibits which they rotate throughout the year. Current exhibits include "Revolutionary Lives: New Englanders in the 1700s" at which visitors can see what a child's life was like in New England in a colonial village of the 18th Century.
• "Only The Vest" is an exhibit which explores men's fashions through the centuries. "A Real American Girl: Elizabeth Richards Horton" explores the life of Ms. Horton who donated her entire doll collection to the museum.
• There are many programs which you can take part in at the museum. Some of these are aimed at families and kids. These include the "Dolly & Me Trunk Show" where you can find old style dresses and dolls for your kids.
• There is a magic show for children aged 3 and up on certain Sunday's. A range of summer programs are on offer every year too.

Wenham Museum Insider Tips

• The Museum is closed every Monday except for some special exceptions like Martin Luther King Day, President's Day and Veteran's Day.
• There is free parking provided on the museum's grounds with additional parking located nearby if their lot is full.
