Activity Overview
Channel Islands Whale Watching offers the amazing opportunity to see whales from the deck of one of their ships out in the whales' natural habitat, the open seas. Take one of their tours and you should be guaranteed to dolphins, seals and sea lions too. These tours are led by Captain Frank a captain with over 35 years of experience navigating the Californian waters and providing tours for families who want to see and learn about the creatures that live there.
Things to Do
- The Whale Watching Tour will take you through the waters that surround Southern California's Channel Islands National Park and National Marine Sanctuary.
- There is a variety of whales that can be seen here including Blue Whales, Humpbacks, Orcas, Finbacks and Grey Whales. There is other wildlife to be enjoyed too including Harbor and Elephant Seals, California Sea Lions, dolphins and many different species of birds.
- School Field Trips can be organized with Whale Watching. On these special tours kids will learn about the remarkable resilience of the Pacific Gray Whale which has recovered from near total extinction twice. They will hear about its migration patterns and the risks that it still faces.
