Activity Overview
The William Land Park encompasses more than 160-acres of land located between Interstate 5 and State Route 160. The park features amenities such as Fairytale Town, Sacramento Zoo, Funderland, picnic areas, athletic fields, an amphitheater, and a golf course.
Things to Do
- Take the kids to a fun day at the park. There is plenty of space for them to run around and explore. There's an area where the kids can get pony rides or splash around at the children's water playground area.
- Visit Funderland, an amusement park with rides suitable for very young children, or drop by Fairytale Town, a small park featuring play sets depicting popular nursery rhymes and fairytales. The Sacramento Zoo can also be found inside the park premises. Visit the individual websites for information on admission fees.
- Go on a picnic with the family. There are plenty of shaded picnic spots and shaded, grassy areas to choose from. There are also barbecue pits that you can use. The most popular picnic spot is on the lawn by the pond. In the summer, Shakespeare plays are held at the park's amphitheater.
- Play baseball, softball, soccer, or basketball at the fields or head on the the golf course. Fitness enthusiasts also prefer running in the 2-mile jogging trail.
- Have a relaxing afternoon and spend a quiet time watching geese and ducks, and if you're into birdwatching, you'll be able to spot species of hawks and flickers.
