Activity Overview
The Wolf Trap National Park of the Performing Arts is the only National Park that is dedicated performing arts in its indoor and outdoor arenas. There are also hiking trails and beautiful grounds to explore on your trip to the park.
Things to Do
- Take in performances at the Filene Center and the Theater in The Woods.
- Sledding in the park's winter months is a big draw to this National Park.
- You may hike outdoors at the park year round or participate in ranger programs and walks.
- Take a backstage tour of the theaters.
Wolf Trap National Park Insider Tips
- You can also tour the park for its history and beauty during the off season months but performances and the main attractions are May through September.
- Bring a picnic and grab a blanket. Save some money and save on lawn seats for a super enjoyable experience.
- There are size restrictions to the size of the cooler that you can bring in and they will be checked before you enter, so that line will take a little longer.
- Carts are available for transport from the parking area to the main stage on a one way only basis. After the performance, the carts are available on an as needed basis for those with accessibility issues.
- Wine is allowed to be brought in.
- Arrive two hours early to take in the sites and activities going on around the park.
