Activity Overview
The Woodland Discovery Playground is a popular playground located in Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, Tennessee. This exciting new playground is unique because it is a sustainable playground that was built to be as environmentally friendly as possible by doing things like constructing chairs from recycled plastic. Its features include slides, play "nests", climbing structures, and grassy spaces where children of all ages and abilities can play together.
Things to Do
- Check out the play "nests", six special areas with unique activities for children to do.
- Watch your child fly down the slides!
- Bring along a shovel and bucket and teach your child how to make a sandcastle.
- Take your adventurous child to explore the giant net and the huge treehouse climbing structure.
- Cool off in the summer heat by playing in the water features.
Woodland Discovery Playground Insider Tips
- Bring along your camera to take photos of your child playing under the winding steel arbor around the playground that is decorated with beautiful willow trees and flowering vines.
- All children should be able to have fun at the playground since it was designed for children of all abilities and has special ADA play elements.
- If your child likes to play in the sand and water, you might want to bring along an extra pair of clothes for them to change into when they're done playing.
