Woodmere Art Museum

Activity Overview

The Woodmere Art Museum is located inside of a beautiful 19th century Victorian mansion in Philadelphia's historic Chestnut Hill neighborhood. Since 1940, visitors have been able to view its impressive collection of artwork, much of which belonged to prominent businessman Charles Knox Smith. Today, the museum contains over 3,000 pieces, including collections of contemporary art, Impressionist paintings, sculptures, and photographs. It also regularly hosts film screenings, concerts, classes, and workshops for visitors of all ages.

• View the museum's current exhibitions, which are frequently changed so that you always find something new when you visit.
• Take your child to be inspired by the artwork in the Helen Millard Children's Gallery, which features works created by local children.
• Participate in the Children's Garden, an annual summer project which encourages local children to work together to make a major work of art.
