Activity Overview
Spend time away from the city and reconnect with nature at the Woodward Park. The park is an excellent destination for your family where you can bike or hike on the trails, take your pets to the dog park, go on a picnic, or enjoy birdwatching.
Things to Do
- The park has a lake, children's playgrounds, a dog park, several ponds, and picnic areas. Bring old bread with you because as you go around the park, you'll see ducks and geese roaming around the area. Feeding the birds is a fun activity for the kids. Visit on the weekends to visit the Japanese Garden too! Fishing is only allowed if you have a fishing license. All the children's playgrounds are under a canopy so you won't have to worry about the kids staying under the sun for too long.
- Take food and drinks with you and have lunch at the picnic shelters or gazebos. Go biking or hiking on the trails, or play a round of frisbee golf. If you want to spend some quiet time, you can always find a nice, shaded spot where you can sit back and relax or read a book.
- Check out park events during weekends. Catch Shakespeare in the Park, concerts, and charity races.
